Application Requirements

Undergraduate

  • Completed application
  • Johnson & Wales is test optional and encourages submission of all test scores
  • High school transcripts
  • College transcripts if applying for transfer credits

Graduate

  • Completed application
  • College transcripts (except current/former JWU students)
  • Letters of Recommendation
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Resume

Non-U.S. Citizens

In addition, you must provide:

  • Proof of English proficiency if applicable
  • Completed and signed International Student Financial Declaration Form for undergraduate and graduate programs
  • Certified bank statement or government sponsorship letter verifying financial support for one academic year
  • Copy of biographical section of your valid passport

Frequently Asked Questions - Undergraduate

Essay

You can submit an essay directly to your campus Admissions Office. However, JWU does not require essays of undergraduate applicants.

SAT Essay/ACT Writing

JWU does not require the SAT essay/ACT Writing test scores.

SAT/ACT Scores

Johnson & Wales is test optional and encourages submission of all test scores.

Honors Applicants

SAT scores with a minimum of 28 in Reading test and 540 in Math section or ACT scores of 22 or better are required for admittance into this program.

Home Schooled Students

SAT scores of 27 in Reading test and 530 in Math section or ACT equivalent are required for admittance.

Re-enroll

If you were previously enrolled at JWU, you do not need to reapply. Simply readmit to our on-campus programs or online programs.

What is the difference between Early Action and Rolling Admission?

Early Action has a deadline for application submission. Rolling Admission offers a deadline-free application and decision process.

Who can apply through early action?

Undergraduate students applying for the September start date.

Is Early Action available for all start dates?

No, Early Action is only available for the September start date.

Is there a deadline for Early Action?

Yes, students must apply by November 1.

If I apply through Early Action, when will I get my financial aid package?

Merit scholarships will be awarded at the time of acceptance. Once you've filed your FAFSA, a financial aid package will be awarded.

If I apply through Early Action, will the amount of scholarships and need-based aid I receive be affected?

No. Applying through Early Action will not affect your scholarships or need-based financial aid.

When will I receive acceptance information?

Early Action decisions are released beginning November 15. Rolling Admission decisions are released beginning December 15.
