Honorary Degree Recipients
Each spring as we approach the end of another academic year, we look forward to celebrating the hard work and achievements of the students who will transition into alumni. Our graduates pay homage to the legacy of Gertrude Johnson and Mary Wales, who “commenced” their first class 110 years ago. Commencement is a time-honored tradition connecting graduates across generations and a true celebration of the Wildcat Way. At this year’s 2025 Commencement ceremonies, we will present an honorary degree to the following distinguished individual in Providence:
- Greg Cook, executive vice president and president of Institutional Group for Ecolab Inc.
- Doctor of Business Administration, honoris causa
Honorary degrees recognize an individual’s achievements, but just as importantly, they elevate the university’s reputation by honoring those whose success are widely known and respected. These chosen individuals will be forever connected to JWU, serving as ambassadors for our university and by delivering addresses to the graduating class and those in attendance.
