Honorary Degree Recipients

We look forward to presenting honorary degrees at 2024 Commencement to the following individuals who have achieved national and/or international prominence and a distinguished reputation within their chosen field. These distinguished recipients embody the tenets of a JWU education and inspire our students on both a professional and personal level, and typically deliver an address to the graduating class and those in attendance.

2024 Graduate Studies Ceremony Honorary Degree Recipient:

  • Dale Venturini, president and CEO of the Rhode Island Hospitality Association
  • Doctor of Business Administration, honoris causa

2024 Undergraduate Studies Ceremony Honorary Degree Recipient:

  • Dorothea Bongiovi, Founder and Program Director, JBJ Soul Kitchen
  • Doctor of Business Administration, honoris causa

Honorary degrees recognize an individual’s achievements, but just as importantly, they elevate the university’s reputation by honoring those whose success are widely known and respected. These chosen individuals will be forever connected to JWU, serving as ambassadors for our university.
