Professor Paul Ullucci, Jr., an expert in orthopedics and sports science, speaks to the complexities, issues and prevention of injuries to athletes in youth sports, professional sports, and recreational sports. He has frequently discussed the causes and results of concussions and the role athletic trainers and physical therapists play in injury assessment and management. In addition, he has explored the perils of playing one sport and overuse injuries in youth athletics that lead to long term changes such as osteoarthritis, joint pain and functional limitations.

A licensed physical therapist and athletic trainer, Ullucci is a board certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) and certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2023. He is also an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and is the Treasurer for the RI Chapter of the APTA. He is member of the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association's Hall of Fame '49 Club and the RI Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Fame. Ullucci received the APTA's Mary McMillan Award and is a member of the workgroup who revised "The Guide to Physical Therapist Practice."
