Blooms & Bubbly

With the arrival of spring comes blooming flowers and, in this case, the showcase of local businesses. On Saturday, April 6, Floral Designs by LiRog, a local flower shop located on Federal Hill, hosted an event to engage the local community with small businesses in Providence. Floral Designs by LiRog is less than a ten-minute drive from the Downcity campus and created beautiful arrangements. They often make arrangements for Bistro 61, a dining room located on the Downcity campus.

The event ran from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and was located inside the shop. There were tables set up for each local business to display their work. The business included Literacy Chef Publishing, Ez-Bar Ri, Sonya’s Clothing, Herbalife Nutrition, and Pooch Pawsitive.

As guests came in, they were welcomed to the shop and were able to get a drink from Ez-Bar. After grabbing a drink, the guests looked around and talked with the local vendors. As part of the event, people could also make arrangements using a variety of flowers. After picking an assortment of flowers, one of the employees from Floral Designs by LiRog would arrange them into a bouquet and wrap it up.
