UIB New York City Trip

On Jan. 17, the University Involvement Board (UIB) took students to NYC for the day. Students had the option to either walk around NYC to see what they wanted or to see the Broadway show “The Great Gatsby.”

Being from a small town on Long Island, I thought it was cool that I was able to show my college friends around one of my favorite places. My friends and I decided to go walk around the city since all of them had never been to NYC. They wanted to explore and see what NYC had to offer, and luckily for them, I was their tour guide since I have been there so many times.

We went to the Paley Center for Media in NYC. In this museum, we got to see 45 years of Pac-Man, which was interesting to learn about. They had Pac-Man games as well as different collaborations Pac-Man has collaborated with.

We also walked around Central Park and Times Square. While we were there, it ended up snowing, which made for amazing photos in the city. We went into FAO Schwarz to look around, and it was super fun. We also went into the Nintendo store, which was cool because I had never been in there. Then went to Rockefeller Center to watch people ice skate. Everyone had an amazing time in NYC, and I had the best time showing my friends around one of my favorite places.
