History of SEEM Conference

The Sports, Entertainment, Event — Management (SEEM) Leadership Conference was founded in 2014 with the goal of connecting industry leaders of today with the leaders of tomorrow. The SEEM Leadership Conference is a student-run event that captures the spirit of the experiential-based educational mission of Johnson & Wales University.  This dynamic event provides attendees with exposure to powerful leaders within the field of sports, entertainment and events. The one-day conference hosts distinguished panel discussions, networking functions, and multiple keynote addresses from influential industry professionals.

The Sports, Entertainment, Event — Management program at Johnson & Wales University is the largest program within the School of Hospitality and enrolls over 600 students. Students enrolled in the SEEM Program experience a cutting edge curriculum focused on preparing them for a successful career in their chosen track. Want to become a student ambassador?

The Sports, Entertainment, and Event Leadership Conference planning committee is currently looking for interested SEEM students to become Conference Ambassadors.

This is a unique opportunity in which you will network and connect with professionals attending the conference, and have the chance to ask questions regarding their industry experience and story. Additionally, Student Ambassadors get to actively participate in event day operations, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a fast paced environment. If chosen as a Student Ambassador, your will have various responsibilities that could include:

  • Guiding an industry professional around campus and the conference
  • Answering questions about the SEEM program and Johnson & Wales University
  • Helping students navigate the conference
  • Helping with the set up and break down of the event
  • Working closely with the operations team to keep the event running smoothly
  • Participating in marketing efforts, such as running the social media and other grassroots techniques
  • Attending the Alumni Reception
