Frank Russo

Executive Vice President, Business Development and Client Relations Spectra


Frank Russo has earned a reputation as one of the most respected authorities in venue management. In his current position with Spectra, he is responsible for developing new management contracts for arenas, convention centers, stadiums, and other public assembly venues, as well as supporting on-going client relations and business retention.

Early in his career, Frank gained experience in municipal management though positions such as Assistant to the City Manager of Hartford. His 30-plus years of experience also include key Executive Director roles at major North American venues including the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, CT; the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN; and the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York, NY. His extensive corporate experience includes roles such as President of Monitor Productions; Vice President for Sales and Client Services at Ogden Entertainment; and Vice President of International Operations at Ogden Entertainment.

Frank remains actively involved with and has held a number of leadership positions with the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) including Chair of the IAVM Foundation, Chair of the IAVM School for Public Assembly Venue Management, Instructor at the IAVM School for Public Assembly Venue Management and IAVM Graduate Institute, Chair of the IAVM Body of Knowledge, and Chair of the IAVM Board of Education. Additionally, Frank served as Chair of the IAVM E-Book Task Force, which published an electronic book on event management, and he co-authored IAVM’s textbook, Public Assembly Facility Management: Principles and Practices. Frank also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sports Studies for the University of Massachusetts and the University of Connecticut.
