Let's take a closer look at what exactly academic Success Coaching entails and see if it's the right fit for you!

What is academic Success Coaching?

Academic Success Coaching consists of a series of sessions in which you will work one-on-one with a Success Coach who will help you identify your academic goals and develop a clear achievement action plan.

What do we talk about during an academic Success Coaching session?

Anything you want that is related to your academic performance! The great part about academic Success Coaching is that you get to drive the session and decide what you want to focus on while your Success Coach offers support and insight along the way. Some common topics covered during coaching include:

    •   Time Management

    •   Goal Setting

    •   Study Skills

    •   Note-taking Strategies

    •   Managing Test Anxiety

    •   Overcoming Procrastination

    •   Finding Motivation

    •   Establishing a Healthy School/Life Balance

How will I benefit from academic Success Coaching?

Academic Success Coaching offers you a safe space to talk in-depth about your academic concerns and what obstacles may be preventing you from achieving your goals. Coaching provides a supportive relationship between you and your coach who is trained to actively listen to help you discover your aspirations and identify the best strategies for you to make those a reality.

How many times do I need to meet with my Success Coach?

Just like anything else, real progress takes time, and you shouldn’t expect immediate results. During your first session, your coach will ask you how often you would like to meet and what works best for your schedule. We recommend recurring follow-up appointments throughout the semester, but you can decide what timeframe works best for you whether that means meeting weekly, every other week, or even once a month.

In the meantime, your coach will check in with you regularly during the semster via email to ask about your progress, offer new insights, and to schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
