Each summer, our staff coordinates the Summer Bridge Program for 30-50 entering students. They are from Charlotte and surrounding communities (75-mile radius), the first in their families to attend college, and often from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in college. In October 2021, Johnson & Wales University Charlotte received a 5-year, $1.25 million grant from the United States Department of Education. With funding from this awarded Title III PBI (Predominantly Black Institutions) project, JWU Charlotte has identified two goals with eight measurable objectives that will strengthen the University and increase student success.
