Custom Media: Graphic Design
From infographics developed from scratch to proprietary, royalty-free graphics to illustrate examples, our media team's in-house graphic design skills are useful across a multitude of different course builds.
To begin the graphic design process, all we need from you is a summary and any special notes of what you need and input/source materials on what you'd like to see included in the deliverables. We have the capability to create 2D and 3D graphics and animations, static graphics, graphics for presentations and videos, and more. Tell us what format you need, and we’ll make it happen!

Interactive PDF Document
Our media team can create interactive PDFs to enhance course materials that students may previously have had to print out to use, or otherwise lacked interactivity or accessibility. In this example, we created a fully accessible digital version of a tasting sheet that students previously had to print out and circle items with a pencil, scan, and return to their professor. As a result, students no longer have to print tasting sheets and can complete the exercise more quickly. This approach saves time (and paper!).
Literature
In addition to interactive PDFs, our media team offers full-service graphic design support for traditional print materials (or a digital equivalent). Whether you need to get the word out to faculty or you have an old PDF that was scanned from antiquated source materials and needs to be revised into something more colorful and accessible, we can assist you in the creation and development of these types of materials.
Infographics
Sometimes, it's necessary to take graphics that may be too low-resolution for use in a course and re-create them in a higher resolution. Below is an example of such a graphic. If you plan on using graphics or illustrations in your course materials, they should always be in a crisp, high-resolution format. If no such version of your graphic exists, we can help you create one.

Graphics requests don't have to be complex - sometimes, the need for a higher quality graphic for a course can be simple and straightforward. Other times, it may be necessary to create proprietary graphics from scratch in order to comply with copyright laws. One advantage to working with our team on graphics creation is that all graphics that we create are owned by Johnson and Wales University in perpetuity.
Diagrams & Charts
Charts and diagrams are useful tools for communicating technical subject matter to students. If you have an idea of what you'd like to include in a diagram or chart, our team can help you bring your idea to fruition. Sometimes, all it takes is a rough sketch or a brief description to get us started - tell us what you need!
